We believe powerful storytelling starts with the people closest to the issues.
Whether you’re a journalist, photographer, filmmaker, creative, or community member with a story idea — we want to hear from you.
Change Made publishes stories about change: community-led solutions, everyday disruptors, and movements challenging the status quo. We welcome pitches that spotlight social change, culture, community, and innovation — especially from underrepresented voices.
What We’re Looking For?
We’re interested in original, change-based stories with a clear lens on equity, agency, and hope.
We publish:
Photo essays with strong narrative arcs
Short documentaries
Written features and profiles (800–1,500 words)
Audio stories and interviews
Field notes: personal essays or reflections from behind the story
Opinions: On current news & events.
Your story doesn’t need to have all the answers — but it should center around a strong question, voice, or challenge.
Who can pitch?
Emerging and experienced visual storytellers, photojournalists & filmmakers
Writers, journalists & content creators
Changemakers, community organizers & civic leaders
Students in post-secondary education studying journalism, the creative industries or the humanities.
What to Include in Your Pitch?
Please keep your pitch to 300–500 words and include:
Your idea: What’s the story, and why now?
Why it matters: What themes does it explore? What change does it speak to?
Your access: Are you connected to the subject/community? Do you have access to key people?
Format: Is it a photo essay, short doc, article, etc.?
Your background: A few lines about who you are and a link to your past work (if applicable)
